The official validation has been stated by the UPT Rector's Decision, no. 137 /112/C, from 14.01.2021. This is the second consecutive mandate for Mihai V. Micea, which will cover years 2020-2024. |

50 Years Anniversary of the First Romanian Computing School, at the Politehnica Timisoara: 1966-2016

A new national R&D Grant has been awarded to a team of DSPLabs, by the UEFISCDI - Ministry of Education and Research, as the result of the PN-II-RU-TE-2014 call competition
A total of 2961 project proposals have been submitted to the PN-II-RU-TE-2014 national project competition, with a final acceptance rate of ~10%. Our project, "TEEFIOS: Time and Energy Efficient Framework for Inter-Operation of Smart devices", is developed by a research team composed of: Mihai V. Micea (Director), Vladimir I. Cretu, Dan Pescaru, Razvan D. Cioarga, Valentin Stangaciu, Cristina Stangaciu, Claudia Micea and Adriana Tirnovan. The total amount granted by the UEFISCDI to this project is 548850 RON (~123337 EUR), for a period of 24 months (2015 - 2017). |

Mihai V. Micea received the Habilitation Degree (Dr. habil.) and the Qualification of PhD Supervisor in Computers and Information Technology, at the Politehnica University of Timisoara
The Public Dissertation of the Habilitation Thesis, entitled "Research and Achievements in Real-Time and Embedded Systems, Intelligent Sensor Networks and Robotic Environments", has been held on January 16, 2015, at the Computer and Software Engineering Department, Politehnica University of Timisoara. The Board of Scientific Referees, has been composed of the following top-level Romanian experts in the field:
As a result of the evaluations and recommendations of the Scientific Referees, I have been awarded with the Habilitation Degree (Dr. habil.) and the Qualification of PhD Supervisor in Computers and Information Technology, by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Romania, no. 3216/18.02.2015. |

On October 16-18, 2014, Politehnica University of Timisoara and its Department of Computer and Software Engineering hosted the IEEE International Symposium on Robotic and Sensors Environments, ROSE 2014
ROSE is a high level scientific conference, organized annually by the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, USA. It is attended by top international experts and has a large visibility in the field. Previous editions of ROSE have been held in Canada, USA and in several European countries, such as Germany, Austria, Sweden and Italy. Celebrating its 12th edition, ROSE 2014 enjoyed the presence of experts from USA, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Greece, Norway and Romania, who presented significant scientific contributions and technological advances in the top fields of robotic systems and intelligent sensing environments. A new prize has been won by the DSPLabs team of students at the 21th edition "Hard&Soft" International Computers Contest for Students, Suceava 2014
At this edition of the "Hard&Soft" International Computers Contest for Students, Suceava 2014, the team composed of the following students: Emanuel POSA, Andrei PRICOCHI, Gratian BERIAN and Otilia Camelia DUMITRESCU, coached by Razvan D. CIOARGA and advised by Mihai V. MICEA, won the Third Prize! Currently, the team members have been participating to a total of three editions of the contest, all with excellent results! |

Two new prizes have been won by the DSPLabs teams of students at the 19th edition "Hard&Soft" International Computers Contest for Students, Suceava 2012
At this edition of the "Hard&Soft" International Computers Contest for Students, Suceava 2012, the team composed of the following students and DSPLabs team members: Victor ADASCALITEI, Andrei-George STOICA, Zsolt BIRO and Adrian-Horia OAIDA, coach Razvan D. CIOARGA, won the Second Prize. A second team, composed of the students Emanuel POSA, Andrei PRICOCHI, Gratian BERIAN and Alin Nicolae PETRA, and also coached by Razvan D. CIOARGA, won the Special Mention. Since 1999, the teams of students, coached and advised by DSPLabs members, participated on annual basis, with few exceptions, to this international contest. Until now, at the 10th participation, they have been accumulating a total of 7 Prizes: 2 First Prizes, 4 Second Prizes and a Special Mention! |

Member of the Steering Committee of the Politehnica Timisoara Foundation
Politehnica Timisoara Foundation has been officially launched on April 30th, 2010. The Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting the prestige and the image of the University, and to further develop its educational, scientific, cultural and sportive performance. The launching ceremony, which took place in the Senate Hall of the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara, has been hosted by the University Rector, professor Nicolae Robu, the Vice-rector, professor Viorel Serban, and by the members of the Steering Committee of the Foundation.
